Wasp nest removal
When to call a professional
- The nest is inside a wall cavity, loft, roof space or anywhere you can't fully reach.
- The nest is large, or you found it from July onwards, when colonies are at their biggest and most defensive.
- Someone in your household is allergic to wasp or bee stings.
- You've already tried a shop-bought spray and the wasps are still active.
A small, exposed nest found in early spring can sometimes be treated with a spray. Beyond that, professional treatment is safer. If you're not sure the insects are wasps, see how to identify wasps and wasp nests.
How the treatment works
- Assessment. The technician confirms the insects are wasps (not bees, which are treated differently) and finds the nest entrance.
- Treatment. An approved insecticide is applied directly into the nest or its entrance. Most treatments take [15 to 30] minutes.
- Activity dies down. Foraging wasps carry the treatment back into the nest. Activity usually stops within [24 to 48] hours. The nest is left in place during this time, because removing it straight away leaves surviving wasps with nowhere to go but into your home.
- Removal, if needed. [Confirm with ops: is the empty nest removed as standard, on request, or left in place? Nests in roof spaces are often left, as they are not reused.]
What you need to do: keep children and pets away from the nest entrance, keep nearby windows closed for the rest of the day, and don't block the entrance hole, as that can force wasps to chew their way into the house.
Where we usually find wasp nests
- Lofts and roof spaces. The most common call-out. Often noticed first as a scratching or buzzing sound above a ceiling, or wasps coming and going from under a roof tile.
- Wall cavities and air bricks. Hard to treat fully without professional access.
- Sheds, garages and outbuildings.
- Underground, in old rodent burrows, banks or compost heaps.

How much does wasp nest removal cost?
Treatment for a single wasp nest costs from £[X] [including VAT]. The price depends on:
- Access. A nest in an open, easy-to-reach spot is quicker to treat than one high in a roof or inside a wall.
- Number of nests. [Price for additional nests on the same visit, if applicable.]
- Follow-up. [Whether a return visit is included if wasps are still active after X days.]
[Guarantee, e.g. "If the nest is still active after X days, we'll come back at no extra cost", only if this is the actual policy.]
Do you need treatment in autumn?
Not always. From October onwards most nests are dying off naturally, and an abandoned nest is never reused. If wasp activity has stopped and the nest isn't causing a problem, it can usually be left. If wasps are still active near a door or window, or getting into the house, treatment is still worthwhile.
Book wasp nest removal
If you've found a wasp nest at your property, don't try to remove it yourself. Get in touch and a technician will assess and treat it safely.
Form note for the build: use a standard HTML form with visible labels (name, postcode, phone, email, where the nest is) and a real submit button, not a script-only widget. This keeps it usable for people on assistive technology and for browser agents booking on someone's behalf.
